Resources for Students
Canadian Literature In Secondary Schools
Helping us to integrate Canadian literature into schools with a variety of strategies and authors.
Sparknotes
While sparknotes is often looked down upon by teachers it can be a helpful resource in helping students better understand materials given in class. Interesting tools on Sparknotes:
No Fear Shakespeare (Allows students to access a modern translation of Shakespeare's greatest plays)
Storybird
One of my favourite sites for students. Allows them to create visual stories online.
Glogster
Create awesome interactive online posters for interactive multimedia literacy projects.
Fakebook
Have students create fakebook pages for historical figures or literary characters exploring the topics studied in class. A fun alternative to the traditional research paper.
Edublogs
Having students create blogs can make the reflection process a lot more fun and engaging.
